Medical and quarantine policies and processes

• [9 March 2020] The Head of the Prevention Committee of the State Welfare Organization has declared that the Organization would dispatch sign language interpreters to medical facilities to help deaf people affected by COVID-19.
• [27 February 2021] The Ministry of Health and Medical Education has announced that older persons and persons with disabilities would be priority groups to receive the COVID-19 vaccination in the second phase of the national roll-out.

Social protection and employment support

• [n.d.] 2,500,000 Rls. has been allocated to 40,000 persons nursing spinal cord-injured patients, beneficiaries of family-centred nursing, and persons with severe disabilities.
• [11 April 2020] 4,500,000 dollars has been allocated to assist households of persons with severe disabilities.

Institutions and facilities 

• [n.d.] Sanitary and healthcare protocols have been communicated to centres covered by the State Welfare Organization, including 800 residential nursing homes for older persons and persons with disabilities, 600 boarding care centres for children with no guardians or poor parenting and nurseries, and 1,000 drug rehabilitation centres.
• [29 February 2020] Special measures have been announced for nurseries and rehabilitation centres, including allocating 100,000 dollars to boarding centres for older persons, chronic mental patients, and persons with physical disabilities.
